Robin & I have been livingin Truro since 97 and other places before that.Does everyone know Marilyn Hanna passed away a few years ago? When Neil died we didn't know he was ill so it was quite a shock.He was a great guy and will always have a special place in my heart.We just lost our youngest son Darcy oct 14th/06 in Afghanistan. It was total devastation.I've tried to keep in touch with as many of the old gang as possible; Dave LeDrew, Linda Donovan,Harry Oliver, Tena Oliver,Marilyn Hanna, Neil & Eddy whenever I could but it's been a few years.I would love to hear from you all again.This is a wonderful site,for a talented group and the greatest friends.I still have all my pics! Like I said before the band made a lasting impression on me. There was also another band that I liked in the 60s and that was the Phantoms from Cheticamp. I am enjoying the Bitts' tapes tremendously. I can only listen to one side at a time (just doing some savouring). Pool is open, one condition "you don't p in my pool, I won't swim in your toilet"!!!!! Drop in any time,all of you guys. | Comments: | Ed, I still have people who want to know about the reunion, lol. The article in the Cape Breton Post has little ole me asking for the band to play for a November concert. As far as I know there is no Nov. concert and I don't recall ever asking for the band to reunite, not that I wouldn't be delighted but I feel that the article pictures "moi" as a "groupie"? Thought that I would post on this site to set the record straight, I DID NOT ASK FOR THE BAND TO REUNITE...end of discussion. It would take much planning and organizing to get a band that hasn't played together for over three decades to perform again. I know it could be done but it would just take time. Thanks Ed for the tapes of the band. Hope that a souvenir cd is in the works.....yes, I admit I am supporting the idea of a cd. |

| Comments: | April When my husband and I got married in October of 1974 and while searching for a band to play at the wedding, I had been out of touch with the local music scene. The Tradewinds were mentioned as a band I might want to check out. I was not interested because although there are great musicians on the island not all bands weree "great". I am so darn fussy when it comes to live bands. I asked who was in the band. As soon as Rollie's name was mentioned..that is all I had to hear. Being a former "Bitt", I knew enough about Rollie as a musician to know that if Rollie played with the Tradewinds they had to be great...and they were and for years after, whenever anyone mentioned our wedding, someone would always bring up how good the band was. My heart broke when I heard the band had broken up, if I would have had a choice between seeing the Bitts in concert or Elvis, it would have been the Bitts.....that is just the way it was....they were very professional and had much respect in Cape B |

I was blown away by the talent and knew you guys would be back.
